Ok I know the title is a bit far fetched. Things that change our lives are people, circumstances and the Lord. Having said that, there are some things that just make life easier. Recently my wife and I got mixed up on some dates. We had both booked things for the same day. Neither of us remember the other person telling us about their event. Typical. That’s when I went looking for a solution to the problem.
We both use Android smartphones, so I knew there had to be a calendar that we could sync up and both have the same schedule. That way when one of us entered an appointment the other person would see it on his calendar too.
Introducing Business Calendar Free for Android. You can download the app from the Play Store. In a nutshell the calendar syncs with Google Calendars you have and keeps them up-to-date. You will need a Gmail or Google apps account to set up a Google Calendar but it’s free and very easy to do. Here’s how it works. You install the app on your Android device, connect the settings to your Google Calendar and that’s about it.
The nice thing is that you can have multiple calendars loaded. So you can have one for you, one for your spouse, one for the kids and one for work. Each calendar can be loaded on each device. As soon as you enter an event and hit sync, the calendar automatically updates on Google and also on any other device that is connected to that calendar. Now there is never an excuse to be out of the loop on what is going on with the family. Give it a shot. If you have any trouble, leave a comment below and we will try and help.

Thanks Crawford for the recommendation. The app is downloading to my Droid X as I type. I’ve never really been all that happy with the standard calendar app that came with the phone, so I’m excited to try this out.
Crawford. My wife and I have been avidly syncing our calendars for a year or so now. We have use various apps. The beauty of Google is that my wife has an iphone and I have a Droid. I use an app called Jorte. It does essentially the same thing as the free app above. Most of my life I was pretty poor at keeping a calendar.. BECAUSE… I did a poor job of carrying the same exact paper binder (or whatever it was) around with me EVERYWHERE I went. I never had a problem carrying my phone around with me everywhere. Once I settled into Google a few years ago.. and got a phone that could use Google … my calendar woe’s vaporized. Today I schedule things by phone, by computer… my wife even puts stuff on my calendar (luck me)… and it all syncs back up to the mothership (big brother?). Thanks Google.
